We are doing some exciting things.

We are taking pictures of scenes we see around town that remind us of our
Quaker SPICE Project.

The Children who are participating in the project
Community Garden: It now has its own page
- The vegetables are growing fast! - check it out.
The front yard of the friends house will be a community garden. Everyone
is invited to participate. We hope to share food with
the neighborhood, ourselves and the Food Bank and/or Gospel Mission
Our back garden is dedicated as a Peace Garden. It is also meant to
be a memorial and for prayer requests for special needs.
To create a visual reminder for this we are adding prayer flags to the peace
garden.
Pictures are posted here: Prayer Flags in the
Peace Garden.
Also, check out new pictures of some of the beautiful
flowers growing around our building
Seed Money Project:
We have been given an amount of money to use as seed money for a giving project.
Each adult was given $50.00 and each child $10.00.
The idea is to "grow" the money for the Kaimosi
University Scholarship project and/or for our community fund to help those
around us
who have special needs. This can be done as each individual sees fit. Many
of us are seeing needs and giving accordingly, others use the money to fund
supplies to use making things to sell, either individually or in a group,
trying to double the money and give it back.
The inspiration for this is the Parable of the Talents found in Matthew
25: 14-30.
We will come together with a barbecue in September to celebrate the "giving
back" and our stories of how we used the money.
Stay tuned for updates.
"End Torture Month"
on June 1, 2008, some of our handy menfolk hung a banner on the front of our
Meeting House.
