(thoughts while recovering from a broken leg)
The momentum of my life was slow-
A new small, small abode with boxes.
A sunburst of pain from a running dog, Breaker,
Right on the side of the knee.
Limp, limp to abode -
To find out with magic hospital tools -
a fracture like a crack in a Wedgewood Plate
on the tibial plateau.
Now my life is even slower -
A hip and a hop slowness
Slow moments to really sense
everything around me.
Look hard as I slowly go.
