The
Quaker Initiative to End Torture-QUIT
Presented by John Calvi

Klamath Falls Friends Church (Quaker)

QUIT is the spiritual work of Quakers to end torture.
There have been too many stories of American torture involving children and women, civilians and soldiers, abductions and disappearances, and the use of medical professionals to "improve" torture. These reports have brought North American Friends together to support a renewed effort to oppose torture as policy and practice in all places, at all times, for all peoples.
Please join us for this informative and relevant evening presentation covering history, legislation, treatment, and opposition regarding American-sponsored torture. There will be no obscene pictures to upset or frighten.
John Calvi is the convener and founder of QUIT. A Certified Massage Therapist specializing in trauma, John has devoted 25 years to working with sexual abuse survivors, people with AIDS, inmates, and torture refugees from every continent. He is a member of Putney Friends Meeting in Vermont, and has worked among Friends in 4 countries.
"Our intentions are simple, torture must be stopped..."
